The graph displayed above is the unfiltered output of the MS-6w. The graph represents the near-field system output with our low mass driver. The patented VATL transmission line processing system maintains minimum driver excursion even at lower frequencies. If the diaphragm is required to travel a great distance it will be heard as slow and out of sync with your main system. It can be seen that the MS-6w can operate to very high bass frequencies making it desirable to use with electrostatic and dynamic planar speakers. There is little phase shift between 18Hz and 380Hz all best for wide range crossover operation. Low mass Planar systems easily show the disparity that exist using any conventional subwoofer design. High crossover points typically require using two MS-6w subwoofers located close to mains for best integration.
The graph above represents the sign wave output of the MS-6w at 20Hz. This is with 2w input requiring no bass boost or high power requirements. When the bass is output efficiently it represents low mass and rapid response to the amplifiers signal! With the VATL transmission line system the pressure within the enclosure is critically managed to represent the loading of every detail diaphragm motion!
The graph above represents the impedance vs frequency response of the MS-6w. As can be seen the impedance represents that of a transmission line with system impedance flat from 20Hz to 80Hz. There is no one note resonance as in ported reflex subwoofers nor the slow response and high excursions as in sealed subwoofers. The high Q of the driver shows little effect on frequency response. This benign flat impedance keeps the amplifier in control of the MS-6P not the rooms modes. The duct roll off is 12db/oct similar to that of a sealed box. The response can be shaped as desired for integrating your audiophile system using your crossover/ amplifier with analog or digital integration possible.
